GUIDANCE ON THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR SMALL\nBUSINESS CONCERNS.\n\n(a) In General.--Section 21(c)(3) of the Small Business Act (15\nU.S.C. 648(c)(3)) is amended--\n(1) in subparagraph (T), by striking ``and'' at the end;\n(2) in the first subparagraph (U) (relating to encouraging\nand assisting the provision of succession planning), by\nstriking the period at the end and inserting a semicolon;\n(3) by redesignating the second subparagraph (U) (relating\nto providing training in conjunction with the United States\nPatent and Trademark Office) as subparagraph (V);\n(4) in subparagraph (V), as so redesignated, by striking\nthe period at the end and inserting ``; and''; and\n(5) by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:\n``(W) assisting small business concerns in evaluating\nartificial intelligence concerning operations, including by--\n``(i) providing information, guidance, and training\nto small business concerns on the use of artificial\nintelligence, including--\n``(I) best practices for using artificial\nintelligence;\n``(II) using artificial intelligence to\nplan for unexpected circumstances, protect data\nand intellectual property, improve\ncybersecurity, facilitate regulatory\ncompliance, and improve customer trust; and\n``(III) incorporating artificial\nintelligence into business operations; and\n``(ii) conducting outreach to the extent practical\nto small business concerns regarding the use of\nartificial intelligence.''.\n(b) Conforming Amendment.--Section 3 of the Small Business Act (15\nU.S.C. 632) is amended by adding at the end the following new\nsubsection:\n``(gg) Artificial Intelligence.--In this Act, the term `artificial\nintelligence' has the meaning given such term in section 5002 of the\nNational Artificial Intelligence Initiative Act of 2020 (15 U.S.C.\n9401).''.\n\nSEC. 3.
