SHORT TITLE.\n\nThis Act may be cited as the ``AI for Secure Networks Act''.\n\nSEC. 2. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TECHNOLOGY AND THE SECURITY OF\nTELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORKS.\n\n(a) Study.--The Secretary shall conduct a study on the impacts of\nartificial intelligence technology with respect to the security of\ntelecommunications networks, which shall include an analysis of--\n(1) how artificial intelligence technology may be used to\nimprove telecommunications networks, including by\nfacilitating--\n(A) real-time threat and malware detection and zero\ntrust security solutions;\n(B) increased resiliency and interoperability;\n(C) improved energy efficiency; and\n(D) integrated sensing and communications;\n(2) how artificial intelligence technology may be used in\nconnection with Open Radio Access Network technology to\nincrease the security of telecommunications networks;\n(3) how artificial intelligence technology may be used in\nconnection with virtualized security technology to increase the\nsecurity of telecommunications networks;\n(4) how artificial intelligence technology may be used to\nimprove network security controls through firewalls and network\nsegmentation;
